Vedic Astrology
Vedic, or Hindu astrology, also called Jyotish, the Science of Light, originated in India’s Golden Age of Krishna, The Mahabharata and the birth of the Vedas 5,000 years ago.
Unlike Western astrology, Vedic is based on the actual positions of the stars as seen by the naked eye.
Vedic astrology believes that an individual’s past karma and
destiny is written in his natal chart. The natal chart can reveal the
individual’s tendencies - his weaknesses, strengths, hidden talents, challenging
areas, relationships, financial possibilities, health - and the possible unfolding
of future events.
One of the unique and central principles of Vedic astrology is the planetary periods called Dashas, which are like chapters in the individual’s book of life. Each one of these chapters is ruled by a specific planet that colors and shapes the events that the individual experiences during his lifetime.
Another important principle concerns lunar mansions or Nakshatras, 27 divisions of the sky that the moon passes through in its monthly cycle. The Nakshatras are used to determine favorable timing for specific actions, such as starting a project or a business venture, traveling, getting married or moving. Similarly the daily position of the moon in the Nakshatras colors the energy or the character of each day. Discovering your moon and ascendant Nakshatra affords a new and insightful prospective on your nature.
A Vedic astrology reading helps you to know yourself better. Knowing the positions of the planets at the moment of your birth and knowing how they influence your physiology, psychology, and the events in your life will bring more clarity, understanding and acceptance to challenging areas of your life.

For the past four years, Dalia has been a student of Hart Defouw,
one of the most renowned Vedic astrologer teachers in the West. Prior to that,
she studied at the American College of Vedic Astrology (ACVA).

The reading lasts for approximately an hour and a half. The session will be recorded on an audio cassette, which will be given to you along with a printout of your chart. The fee is $85.
To request a reading please call for an appointment. You will need to provide your name, your birthplace and, as accurately as possible, your birth time, which in many cases can be found on your birth certificate.
